Easley Man Struck, Killed by Train

By Personal Injury Lawyer on September 22, 2011

A man was killed Thursday morning when he was stuck by a train during the wee hours of the morning in Easley, report news sources.

At 3:30 a.m. Norfolk Southern dispatch contacted police with a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a train under the Prince Perry Road Bridge. Officers from the Easley Police Department say the pedestrian was a 40-year-old white male and a resident of Easley. Officers also stated that the man suffered fatal injuries in the incident.

Results from a preliminary investigation indicate that the incident was purposeful action carried out by the man, said police. The man’s name has not yet been released to the public pending notification of his family by the Pickens County Coroner.

As a Beaufort personal injury lawyer, I have witnessed first-hand the shock and grief of those left behind after an unexpected death. My heartfelt condolences go out to the man’s family, friends and loved ones. Being a Beaufort car accident attorney, I know how important it is for grieving people to have a strong support network. I hope the man’s loved ones are getting the care and support they need during this difficult time.
