Tax Day Fatal Crashes Rise 6%

By Personal Injury Lawyer on April 11, 2012

According to a Forbes report, Tax Day has a higher rate of fatal auto accidents, which rise by about 6%. A young adult male driving in a rural location, especially in the western part of the United States, is most likely to be involved in a fatal accident. Increased stress may be a contributing factor, as April 18 was the second most stressful day of the year 2011, behind April 27, the day when tornadoes hit the South. Many use alcohol to get through the stress of tax season, so drunk driving may also factor in, along with not getting enough sleep. Forbes advises drivers to hire a taxpayer or e-file to reduce some stress come tax day because filing taxes should not result in a crash.

As a Greenville personal injury lawyer, I hope nobody is harmed in a crash. If you are in a hurry to file your taxes, remember to take a deep breath and drive carefully, or have someone who has already filed their taxes drive you. There is no need to drive recklessly over tax returns. You may want to reach a personal injury attorney if you were harmed in a crash caused by driver negligence. When you have an attorney on your side, you are more likely to get the results you deserve for your case. An attorney can help you with the legal processes involved with your case.
