Pedestrian Dies After Hit-and-Run in Lexington County

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car Saturday night in an hit-and-run incident in Lexington County, report news sources.

According to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, the 26-year-old Leesville man was walking along Pond Branch Road when, at approximately 11:15 p.m., he was struck by a vehicle near Reedy Smith Road, roughly 11 miles west of Lexington. The man was transported to a Columbia hospital where h was declared dead.

The vehicle that hit the pedestrian was a Ford Crown Victoria that fled the scene after the incident, reports the South Carolina Highway Patrol. A 20-year-old Saluda man has been charged with hit-and-run involving a death, according to the Highway Patrol.
