One person was hospitalized after a golf cart was rear-ended by a automobile in Columbia on Saturday near Williams Brice stadium during the USC-Florida game, report news sources.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on Bluff Road when the golf cart was struck from behind. The impact caused the golf car to overturn.
Only one person was inside the golf cart at the time of the collision. The unidentified individual suffered unspecified injuries and was transported to an area medical center, said Highway Patrol sources. The condition of the golf car occupant was unknown at the time of reporting.
According to Highway Patrol troopers, the driver of the vehicle that struck the golf cart has been charged with driving too fast for conditions.
Being a Columbia auto accident attorney, I am well aware of the types of injuries that can be suffered in a collision. I wish the person in the golf cart a rapid recovery from their injuries. Because of my experience as a Columbia personal injury lawyer, I am very aware of the split-second difference between everything seeming fine and a terrible vehicle crash. I urge motorists always to practice safe driving habits and to stay alert to changing road and traffic conditions.
