A man died Monday night because of a vehicle collision while sitting in a car parked in a Fort Mill driveway, report news sources.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:30 p.m. the 42-year-old Rock Hill man was in a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Fort Mill business when the drivers of two vehicles traveling northbound on Harrisonburg Road lost control of their vehicles, one of which, driven by a Charlotte man, crashed into the parked car. The driver of the other errant vehicle was apparently able to regain control of the car and left the scene.
The man in the parked car was rushed to a Charlotte, medical center where he was declared dead. The driver of the vehicle that stuck the parked car was taken to a Rock Hill medical center for treatment of unspecified injuries suffered in the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
