Man Dies After Tractor Trailer Crash in Edgefield County

By Personal Injury Lawyer on November 15, 2011

A septuagenarian man died after a late Sunday evening collision involving a tractor trailer in Edgefield County, report news sources.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at around 11 p.m. when a 1997 Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle was traveling eastbound on Ridge Road and failed to yield at a stop sign. The SUV was struck by a tractor trailer traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 25.

The driver of the SUV, a 75-year-old Graniteville man, was taken to a Georgia medical center where he later died. According to authorities, he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. There was no report of whether the driver of the tractor trailer, a 39-year-old North man, suffered any injuries in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol

As a Florence car accident lawyer, I have witnessed first-hand the shock and grief of those left behind after an unexpected death. My heartfelt condolences go out to the man’s family, friends and loved ones. Being a Florence personal injury attorney, I know how important it is for grieving people to have a strong support network. I hope the man’s loved ones are getting the care and support they need during this difficult time.
