Man Dies After Car-Big Rig Collision in North Charleston

By Personal Injury Lawyer on September 28, 2011

A man died Friday night of injuries suffered in a collision between a car and a tractor-trailer in North Charleston earlier that day, report news sources.

According to the North Charleston Police Department, just after 2 p.m. at tractor-trailer was pulling on to Rivers Avenue near Beaufort Street, but the driver of the big rig did not see an approaching car. The car traveled under the semi trapping the driver of the smaller vehicle.

Firefighters from the North Charleston Fire Department reported to the crash site where they freed the trapped motorist, a 50-year-old Goose Creek man, and Charleston County EMS rushed the man to an area hospital where he died of blunt-force trauma, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.

As a Columbia car accident lawyer, I have witnessed first-hand the shock and grief of those left behind after an unexpected death. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Goose Creek man’s family, friends and loved ones. Being a Columbia personal injury attorney, I know how important it is for grieving people to have a strong support network. I hope the man’s loved ones are getting the care and support they need during this difficult time.
