High-Speed Chase Through Coward Ends in Crash, Charges

By Personal Injury Lawyer on November 22, 2011

A single-vehicle rollover crash ended a brief police chase Friday afternoon in Coward, report news sources.

According to the Florence County Deetention Center bookings Web site, the 27-year-old Salters man is facing charges of reckless driving and failure to stop for a blue light in connection with the high-speed chase along U.S. 52 that reaches speeds of 120 miles per hour.

The chase came to an abrupt end when the car being driven by the man crashed and overturned twice at the intersection intersection of U.S. 52 and West CW Robinson Road. He had allegedly been driving erratically since at least Kingstree, said a spokesperson from the Florence police.

As police officers and South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers investigated the scene of the crash, witnesses driving on U.S. 52 would stop to report incidents involving the suspected man’s vehicle.

As a Florence car accident attorney, motorist safety is something that I am very conscious of. I encourage drivers to to keep to the posted speed limits and obey traffic laws. Because of my experience as a Florence personal injury lawyer, I am very aware of the split-second difference between everything seeming fine and a terrible vehicle crash. I urge motorists to always practice safe driving habits.
