Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a motorist in Pickens County early Sunday morning, report media sources.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:55 a.m. when a 1996 Dodge pickup truck traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 123 veered off the road and rolled over about nine miles south of Easley.
The driver of the truck, identified as a 22-year-old Easley man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Authorities say he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Highway Patrol says that speed appears to have been a factor in the crash; however, the incident remains under investigation.
