An Anderson motorist died after a series of collisions in Abbeville County on Saturday evening, say news reports.
According the to South Carolina Highway Patrol, at around 4:44 p.m., a 2000 Ford pickup truck ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 71 and Highway 28, colliding first with a 2004 Ford driven by a Gray Court man, then with a 2008 four-door Nissan vehicle driven by an Abbeville man. The truck then veered off the road, struck a telephone pole and overturned.
The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old Anderson man who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the pickup. According to the Abbeville County Coroner’s Office, the driver died of multiple blunt trauma suffered during the crash.
